conflict with Visual Studio 2017

3 weeks ago finally managed to get 3DS Max 2018 started on my Windows 10 - (with fabulous help of Henny Lim from Autodesk Installation & Licensing Department, thanks again)

Yesterday I installed Microsoft Visual Studio 2017 and checked my 3DS Max after that. Bad news: again 3DS does not launch!

Uninstalling Visual Studio & Visio C++ redistributables did not solve this.

In fact this must be a clear cut case as after Visual Studio download I immediately checked my 3DS Max.

What's causing this conflict?

Is there a simple solution?

Hello @Anonymous,

Try uninstalling the Microsoft Visual C++ recently installed and locating the required Visual C++ needed (2008-2015) by visiting the Microsoft website & installing them back on the machine. Then install the Autodesk products back on the machine.

Thank you for posting. Smiley Happy
