cannot install Inventor 2023

When I try to install Inventor, I get this message.

lukas_tilch_0-1670694629233.png

I have tried this already.

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/inventor/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Clean...

I had the same problem a while back, the only solution was to reinstall Windows.

This is beyond annoying. If this Problem persists, I will switch to SolidWorks.
Inventor is a buggy mess.

Odd, as you can see from my image ( from this pc) that 22H2 is possible.

Can you share the WINVER like my image?

No that's not the WINVER   that's the ABOUT your PC settings.  There is a different.  And why I asked for the WINVER by command not ABOUT by command @rushabhthakkar_910

@lukas_tilch

Just checking in to see if you were able to get it installed?

Also, did you try a new Windows Profile for the installation?

Can you share the Winver still?

I have not been able to install it.
As for the winver, I'm unable to see what information is missing from the screenshot I shared.
To me, it looks like only the ordering is different.

The Version in winver is this:
Microsoft Windows
Version 21H2 (OS Build 22000.1281)

That is identical to the about page.

No mine is 22H2, it's updated.

I'm trying to get you to update your Windows fully and then try the installation

Windows is not showing the update you are referring to, as stated in message 6 in this thread.
I was able to install Autocad and 3ds Max without an issue.

OK .. but I showed you that there is an update available. As I have, it installed on 2 machines.

put a support ticket in and see if Autodesk can help then.

I would say do a clean uninstall or Windows reinstall. But I don't think that'll go over well

I do not doubt that this update exists, as I have it installed on another machine as well.
Yet this does not explain why the Inventor installer is seemingly incompatible with this updated Windows 11 I have installed in August 2022.
My guess would be, that the Installer has checks in place to determine whether the previous installation is fully removed from the system, before installing a new one.
Which in and of itself is a good idea, but if I have to remove files and edit the registry manually as suggested in the "Clean Uninstall" and it is still not working, something is definitively wrong with these checks.
At this point it is just not worth spending any more time on this.
I will use this time to get more familiar with solid works instead.

But I thank both of you, rushabhthakkar_910 and mdavis22569, for at least trying to help me

Unfortunately, I'm running into this same problem myself. Used the clean uninstall instructions as well. I put in a support case, hoping for some help soon. Has there been any updates to this issue not yet documented here? Thanks.

I figured out my issue. When performing the clean uninstall, there was one more place that needed to be hit in the registry. There was still a location existing in the Installer Products that was telling the installer that Inventor 2023 was still installed:

  • Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Installer\Products\

This resulted in the message shown in the original post for me. Once I deleted the location pointing at the Inventor.exe, I was able to finish the re-install normally. Maybe this will help others in the future. Thanks.
