Hey guys, first time posting here, anyway ill get straight to the point, so I had Maya 2016 student version installed on my external harddrive (im a macbook pro user by the way), and everything was fine up untill few days ago my external HDD decided to die, so as a result i lost everything on it my software files etc, so i decided to reinstall maya but this time on my mac's internal memory but for some annoying reason it keeps saying ''Failed on exit'' after the installation is complete, i tried installing it on my new external harddrive same problem persists, i searched through youtube, google even contacted autodesk themselves for support but unfortunately no luck, and its driving me mad at this stage because i am in a need of this software as i am an animation student and i require it to do my projects, i cleaned everything i could thats related to autodesk maya so i could have a clean installation but nothing worked, i dont understand why it worked before no problem and now it wont.. so i am stuck, if anyone came across this problem too and got a solution please help! i inserted 2 screenshots of the problem, thank you. Screen shot 1Screen shot 2

Hello @Anonymous

Currently Maya 2016 is not supported with El Capitan.  Please note: we have had inconsistent installs of Maya 2016 on El Capitan.  Some installs fail immediately – some installs have been successful only to have issues with Maya’s features later on. Currently we do not expect that Maya 2016 (as of SP5) will function as expected from within El Capitan.

Thank you for taking part in our community forum! Please accept my solution if my post fully resolved your issue.

Kind Regards,

Hello @Anonymous

Several of my friends installed and are running it on El Cap with no issues and I believe you did previously...Do you mind the question "Which download/install method are you using?"

  1. Web Install?
  2. Download Manager?
  3. Autodesk Virtual Agent

Suggestion: I would recommend to try a differnt download/install method...I always prefer the Virtual Agent...If you already have the installation files downloaded they be got corrupted maybe! Click your way through the links on the above link to the download section of the product you need. and redownload it... Extract Part 1 you to the default location and the rest should be straight forward

PS: Add *autodesk.com to the safe/white list.
