I am having difficulties getting AutoCAD to run. It opens, but closes abruptly while on the splash screen, Launching the trial works, but once activated, it begins crashing. See files here:

I would unintall the software, reboot and re-install it.

I would set the following before re-installing the software:

Re-download the software using the instructions below:

Unfortunately I have already tried all of that twice, to no avail. For some reason it works on another computer it is installed on.

Hi @Anonymous - Can you confirm that your machine meets the listed AutoCAD System Requirements? Thanks!

Yes, it does. It's a Dell Precision M6500. 1920 X 1200 screen resolution, Intel Core i7 Extreme Edition @ 2.9 Ghz. 6 GB RAM, discrete graphics. It runs Inventor fine, so I see no reason why I can't run AutoCAD.

What version of AutoCAD is it? Have you also applied the latest Service Packs and finally have you tried Repairing the installation or Reinstalling from Add Remove Programs?

It is AutoCAD Mechanical 2016. It was installed as as suite. I have tried a repair install, as well as a reinstall of both the entire suite and AutoCAD by itself. THere are no service packs that I am aware of out for it yet.

UPDATE: I tried the "VLX Hotfix" out for AutoCAD 2016, it had no effect on the problem.

Can you send me the log files located here:

C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\AdLM

You can zip them before uploading...

SOLVED!

Even though the activation caused it, I had to reinstall my graphics driver after a BSOD, and that fixed it! I have an ATI FirePro M7820 if anyone finds this in the future having this problem. I simply used the automatic driver detector, and let it run.
