AutoCAD 2016 is not found on this computer. [ERROR]

Im trying to reinstall AutoCAD 2016 due to some .dll lost. I got past the "AutoCAD 2016 is already installed" puzzle, but oh boy did they fool me! There I was, happy and singing since I finally can get back to my beloved school project. When installation was half way, error message saying "AutoCAD 2016 is not found on this computer. You will need to install AutoCAD 2016 to install this product specific pack.". I've tried downloading from all three sources listed in drop-menu in download page, I've tried regedit, I've tried IObit Uninstaller, I've tried Wise Registry Cleaner, I've tried MS Fix it but no, I just cant get it to work. Can someone PLEASE help me get back to my school projects.

Im running on Win 7 x64 and the other specs are optimal. I'm trying to install AutoCAD 2016 on free Student license.

Can you browse to your temp directory and post the log files. Use the following link to determine which logs to look for...

Clear out your temp directory "C:\users\<username>\local\temp"

Check Programs & Features to see if any 2016 Autodesk products installed. If so, Uninstall them and start the installation process again from:

C:\Autodesk\AutoCAD_2016_English_Win_64bit_dlm\

I can't seem to find "C:\users\<username>\local\temp". Where can I change the settings so that I can see the hidden folders?
I found "C:\users\<username>\AppData\local\temp" but I think that's not what you mean't?

Click Start, then type %TEMP% in the search box and hit enter. It will take you to the temp directory.

Yes. Some things will not delete which you can choose to skip when prompted.

The temp clearing didn't help. I get the same message saying that "AutoCAD 2016 is not found on this computer. You will need to install AutoCAD 2016 to install this product specific pack."

Hi @Anonymous,

This looks to be an rights issue. Log onto the machine as an Administrator (Non-Restricted user), then try running the installation again.
