First thing I would check is to make sure you video card driver is up-to-date.  Don't rely on Windows telling you it is, go directly to the vendor's web site.

Next thing..  Is this Windows 10?  If so you may want to install AutoCAD 2016 SP1 to be compliant with Windows 10.

Final thing:..  What's your resolution set to?

Hello @Anonymous,

Welcome back. Smiley Happy If the program is fully functioning, but you want to remove the start screen you can try to change the start mode.

Change the STARTMODE system variable.

  1. Type STARTMODE on the command line in AutoCAD.
  2. Enter 0 (zero) to turn off the Start tab or 1 to turn it on.

Turning it on requires restarting AutoCAD. If you are running AutoCAD in a single document mode (SDI =1), the Start tab will be displayed after you change the value of SDI to 0 and restart AutoCAD.

Please let me know if this was the issue and if this helped resolve it for you.

1.  What does that mean?

2.  Does that mean you have SP1 installed or are you asking about SP1?

3.  You don't know what your Windows/Monitor resolution is set to?

Hello @Anonymous,

Can you please let us know what you are experiencing to better assist you. Does it have to do with the Start Window? What is it doing or not doing?

Thank you.

Ok.
So as you see the screen us half sized and it looks as though it was "draged" upwords and to the left of the screen.
Some of the icons work and some don't and thoughs that do work, have the sensibility of a hipo...haha..
I want the start screen to just be normal size and that the right icons will work as they should.

Apply SP1 for AutoCAD 2016: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/downloads/caas/downloads/content/autocad-2016-service...

I'm not sure what you mean for resolution of HD..  Actual resolution numbers would help..  Smiley Wink

Is this monitor 4K?

For a test drop the resolution and relaunch AutoCAD.  To me it seems you have a 4K monitor and a high resolution.  Which is not supported until the 2017 version.  But I'm only assuming at this point.
