Authorization Error Login failed, Error -551

Hi Guys,

Have a machine (win7/64 pro) joined to domain (sbs2011) installed with AutoCAD 2015 + AutoCAD 2016

early this week i gave this machine to other user, disconnect it from the domain and rejoined it with the

the other user profile

since then the user complains: he opens his dwg files getting Authorization error (see the pic)

i would like to mention that before, this machine was working perfectly

when disconnecting the machine from the domain, the error is vanish

workaround?

Recreate his Windows Profile on the machine. Before the machine was attached to the domain, the user account was local (ie. MyName) now that it's attached to the domain, it may read (ie. MyName.Domain). That being the case, you may need to remove both directories from C:\Users

No, that's not the case

the current user has no local account before joining the domain (only the previous user account is exist + 'user' account which is our default account on all machines)

lets say the user name is 'abcd' and domain name is 'Domain1.Local'

in my experiance a macine first time joining to Domain1 the OS create a profile c:\abcd

'Domain1.local' is retired and Domain2.local comes in place, the OS creates a profile c:\abcd.Domain1 (ofcours if c:\abcd still exist)

p.s: i did disconnect and rejoin it to domain but it didn't help

i also reinstall autocad and it didn't help

Try resetting AutoCAD back to it's default settings. Use the following link to guide you through the process:

isn't the same autocad profile works as standalone or network member?

forgot to mension, the same error is coming from AutoCAD 2015 and AutoCAD 2016

I will also ping @Mark.Lancaster & @TravisNave for their input. 

While waiting for their response, try resetting your Autodesk login files on your system using the following workflow... 

1. On your computer, navigate to:
   • ​​C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\CLM\LGS\<product key>_<<product version>>\
2. Delete the LGS.data file.
3. Navigate to
   
   • C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\
4. Delete the ADUT folder and it's contents
5. Start the application.

When you start the application, it will Prompt you to choose one of the following:

• Login - 30 day trial licenses
• Serial Number - Standalone and Single-User activations
• Network - Network License server for obtaining licenses from a machine on your network

Choose the option that matches your license. 

NOTE: Students will always use the Serial Number option

Mean while the CEO changed his mind and decide to transfer these licenses to another machine

i have already done that, so i even can not try this solusion.

Next time...

at least some thing good this forum gained, a similar theard could be found untill now.
