Welcome to the community..

It sounds like you used the wrong serial number when installing your product.   When you launched the product for the first time on your home machine, did you get the lets get started dialog that prompted you to either select the serial #/product key or to use a network license?

Go to the C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\CLM\LGS folder on your home machine and tell us what sub-folders that are in there.

mark, thanks for the prompt reply.

lt contains sub folders for both revit lt copies I purchased. the 843i1 which is for the suite and the 828i1 for the non suite.

I would like to use my copy on this machine which is the 843i1. does it automatically go to the first folder? shall I delete the folder for the version I don't want to use?

thanks

First make sure none of the Autodesk products are running on your home machine.  In those 2 sub-folders delete the LGS.data.  Then launch your product again and it should prompt you "Lets Get Started".  Select enter serial # and product key and use the correct serial # this time.

thanks,
I deleted the content of the two sub folders. then launched the program.
this gets me back to the enter serial # dialog, however, the serial number and product key for the copy I don't want is already in there. I can change the serial number but the product key cannot be changed to the corresponding serial number
do I need to delete the subfolder for the unwanted copy? and not just the date within.

You probably installed Revit and not Revit LT. In this case you will need to uninstall Revit and Install Revit LT. You can download the software from the Autodesk Virtual Agent

Once there, use the Download Links option to navigate to the application you need to download.

NOTE: If there are multiple parts for the download, you'll need to click each part to download them, one they are downloaded double-click Part1 (which will automatically extract the remaining parts) to begin the installation.

You just committed one of the worse thing you can do on this forum...  Smiley Sad  Posting person information such as your serial #.  Don't do that...

No this is a world wide public user forum..  We are unable to delete any postings because we are only users like you.  Anyhow I have already notified the moderator to remove your personal information (so it can be protected).

I don't know why you can't change the serial # information at this point in the Let's Get Started dialog...

Might suggest uninstalling the product from this machine and perform a clean uninstall per these instructions.  Then install using your Revit LT Suite installation.

@phil9LCTX, you are correct. Your serial numbers are valid for your products. However, you probably installed Revit LT from wrong install media. This is the only reason you're not able to activate it.

Uninstall Revit LT from that machine and make sure you're installing the correct package

  • Autodesk AutoCAD Revit LT Suite 2017 W/ Product Key: 834I1
  • Autodesk Revit LT 2017 W/ Product Key: 828I1
