A360 Not working - reinstalled - same thing. Help!!!

I came across A360 recently and wanted to start using.  I noticed it has a directory that had a SYNCED FOLDER and my DWG files where there.  I then noticed files had not been updated in over a year.  I tried looking here for help and saw a post that said to uninstall then reinstall via acad.exe.  I tried that and the acad.exe would not work, so I DL'd the single app and well thats not working either.

It also seems this APP has not been updated in quite some time?

I have a MAC that sees all the old files and works flawlessly.

hi Jeff, sorry for the trouble you're having here.

Can you try the below steps to see if you can log out, then log back in to "reset" the A360 Desktop's sync function?

__________________________

If you're having troubles with your Sync and A360 Drive working properly, there are a few things to cover, see below.

Is your A360 Desktop "sync" installed properly, and do you have the most up to date version?

  • A360 Desktop "sync" cannot just be installed on its own.
  • It has to be installed along with your install of any AutoCAD based vertical product or Inventor. No other products work with A360 Desktop 'sync'.
  • If you didn't install A360 Desktop "sync" when you did the install of your product, launch Setup, and make sure the "sync" option is selected.
  • After you confirm the install, then check HERE to be sure you have the latest copy of A360 Desktop "sync" installed.
  • If you're using 2016+ product, you first have to do a SAVEAS to point your save (just the first time) to the right local A360 Drive folder in order for it to sync to your online Drive. (the "autosync" function isn't available in AutoCAD based products past 2015 version)

If you've confirmed that you installed A360 Desktop "sync", yet it's not working properly, proceed to the below.

  • Review "Sync" document to log out of A360 Drive, reboot your machine, then log back in to see if that resets "sync" for you.
  • If the logout/login doesn't work, then zip up and send us your log and database files, see linked document that walk you through how to find them and email them to us at [email protected]
  • Sync and Log file documents linked HERE
Thanks,

Well since I posted this, I have found that there is no AutoSync as of 10/26/15?  This is what I am trying to fix.  It seems it has VERY old data.

This is the most confusing AutoDesk program ever.

Yes, as of 2016 product one has to now SAVEAS the first time to lock in the save location to your local A360 Drive folders.

Thought so.  Still can't find files in Windows exporer, before all this I had the A360 logo and direct access for the folder.  This is still not working....thoughts?

So, if I understand you correctly, there is no SYNCING? Meaning if I have a FOLDER on my C Drive, called C:Drawings, I can not automatically sync that folder to A360?

Hi Jeff,

Correct, the only syncing that occurs is between your online A360 Drive and the local set of folders that are created when you install the A360 Desktop product. (not just any folder that you want to select in c:/)

  • A360 Desktop is only installed along with the install of an AutoCAD based vertical, and/or Inventor products. (not Revit)
  • When A360 Desktop is installed locally, a specific folder is created locally on your desktop that is able to be "synced" with your online Drive. (see below, it will show up as "A360 Drive (your name)" in WIN Explorer)
  • When you "save" or "saveas" to any folder created in the local A360 Drive folder, those files are then synced to the online Drive location as well locally to any other member that you've "shared" that online Drive folder with. (sync replicates to all locations locally, or online)
  • Currently there isn't a solution for "syncing" from Team to just any local folder on your own HD, however, the team is working on a solution that will work with Team being synced to a local location, so stay tuned for that in the near future hopefully.

Thanks Brett,

I do not have that folder.  I use to, before I started messing around with and uninstalled.  Now I reinstalled and do not see it.

Hi Jeff,

My partner in crime also reminded me to tell you that you have to reinstall using SETUP.EXE that was used to install AutoCAD or whatever vertical added Desktop Sync to the computer.

hopefully that will help 🙂

sorry for the confusion there on my last posts.

so, after you did what you did, are you now able to see the A360 Drive folder(s) in your explorer, or still not yet?

please confirm.

No worries.  I understood.  No I can not see in Explorer.  I can see in AutoCad 2017, meaning I am connected.  But have NO IDEA where the folder is. Screen Shot 2017-01-17 at 12.13.57 PM.png

ok thanks Jeff,

A few other thoughts here.

1. When you go to your system tray, do you see the A360 Desktop icon at all?

Sync Now.png

2. if you go to your control panel > install/uninstall page, is A360 Desktop listed there at all?

install a360 desktop sync.png

3. From within AutoCAD, from the upper right a360 dialog that you showed earlier, are you able to "sign out" then "sign in" again by chance? (have a file open when you do this)

No to both questions.  It looks like i have A360 Desktop.  I just tried to reinstall via Setup.exe and there is no option to install..

Geeze, to think I would just try this out have turned into the biggest headache.  Sorry for your trouble.  But I am too **** to not fix this.

See screen I get when running setup.exe.

No it shows up in task bar, but only after I clicked A360 Desktop (shortcut on desktop).

But is it not the same app, right?  Maybe have a screen cast?  Sorry for troubles.
