Use of 2D Objects for Trees to reduce model size

Use of 2D Objects for Trees to reduce model size

Infraworks ability to insert multiple 3D models to a defined area or path is great. However, this can also be a major hinderance as it can quickly bloat your model when trying to and objects like trees to simulate forested areas.  The ability to use 2D objects that can be set to always turn/rotate to face the camera or viewing angle could greatly reduce the size of models and allow larger more dense forested areas to be shown.
Also, a selection of evergreen trees like Pine, Fir and Cedar are required to be added to the library.

Here is an example we had produced in another software package that allows this function.

Also, note some of the text lables that rotate to follow the camera.

Definitely agree with the additonal selection of trees and the concept of the 2D suggestion as I find this problem with my models

PS the link doesn't work for me

Looks like the Youtube videos were removed.

Here is a link to the public review site.  The Segment #2 video is a good example.

While this is a great idea, it is not gathering much community support and is not on our current roadmap. For that reason, we're not considering this idea at this time but we'll keep it on the list for future consideration.
