Curved Girders on Elevations

Can we have the ability to curve girders of elevation please?

By "curve girders of elevation", are you referring to variable depth profiles or something else? Regards -Ara PM InfraWorks Bridges

Well yes they would be of variable depth because they would be curved!

There are many cases where the soffit of a bridge is curved, currently there is no easy way to do this.

When you select an individual girder in InfraWorks, you will see "slice gizmos" at the start and at the end of the girders.  You can also click on these and add new ones at any intermediate location.  You can then change any of the girder's cross section dimensions, including depth.  When the girder group is selected, you can also change the "Girders in Plan" parameter from straight to curved.  In the attached image, the use of the girder slices is shown.  The girder is also curved in plan.

Ara,

.

Yes I understand what you are saying, but using this method it is very difficult and not to say time consuming to produce a smooth continuous curved soffit. We need an option to be able to give the soffit a single curve,

Agreed.  We will be implementing a dedicated enhancement to allow users to easily (and quickly) model various soffit configurations. Stay tuned.

This idea has been added to the product roadmap - thanks for the suggestion!

I note this post is close to 5,5 years old, any progress made.....?

Unfortunately, this enhancement remains in the backlog as we have been focusing on a number of higher priority items.

However, one notable improvement that is related to making the addition of multiple slices along girders (decks and tunnels) quite a bit more efficient is the ability to leverage the send to spreadsheet feature and the enhancement that lets users add and delete multiple columns in the spreadsheet and adjust any of the sections parameters, such as girder depths.
