Shared View needs an update

I have a love hate relationship with Infraworks.  I have found it extremely useful for generating holistic views of proposed sites I work on.  I wish I could share these views with others so they to can have a reality check on our projects, this would be especially useful for engineers / directors / stakeholders who don’t use Civil 3D.

Infraworks does have the ability to upload models via the ShareView workflow.  The problem is I think this platform is extremely dated now and very basic.  Comparing how my model looks in Infraworks is very different from the uploaded view.  I also find navigating the share view very difficult.  The panning/orbit seems very janky (especially on larger models) and I often resort to the 1st person view (very useful) for navigating the model.

Other platforms do this so much better.  Speckle, Twinmotion.  I have even started using QGIS and a plugin called QGIStoThreeJs to produce better models.  The models are not better than the models I make in Infraworks, but they are better than the models I can upload from Infraworks, which is super frustrating!

Please give this feature the attention it deserves.  There are many extremely useful applications.  Twinmotion is overkill for a lot of what I do.  I don’t need realistic renders, but I do need a shareable model on a platform that is good enough for sharing with non-CAD / ACC people.

You should look into exporting it out to to FBX and importing it into Twinmotion. I totally agree with you, as I have the same relationship with it as you do. I have been using it since it was Project Galileo. If you have the AEC Collection, you get a license of Twinmotion. I highly recommend it.
