Infraworks 2021 and 2022 will not open after Successful Install on Windows 10

I have installed 2021 multiple times and now 2022 version of Infraworks. The installation process seems to go fine. Then after restart I try to open the program. The startup image will display for a couple of seconds like it is about to open and then..... nothing. This is on a windows 10 laptop. I was able to download 2021 onto my work desktop with not issues. I am wondering if it is some kind of security setting. I have downloaded 2019 and 2020 version and they will work, and I always uninstall the current version before and trying to install a new one.

Hi @mccrawlogan ,

if InfraWorks doesn't start, it's usually caused by a graphics adapter not being supported or a license issue.

Please make sure you have set the license to a Single Sign on Option, details here:

Do you have two graphic adapters installed and what type(s) is/are it/they?

Can you share the InfraWorks log files from path %appdata%\Autodesk\Autodesk InfraWorks\logs ?

Regards,
Karsten.

I have attached a log file. I tried doing the other things for the licensing but could get those commands to run. I do see a warning in the log file, so maybe that is the issue.

I don't know how to check what graphics adapters I have.

Hi @mccrawlogan ,

the log file is almost empty and show that InfraWorks has not finished starting.

In the moment I believe the issue is due to the license not being retrieved. The solution is to use the license helper tool mentioned in the knowledge base article. Where do you have the problem when using the tool?

Here is a step by step description again:

  1. Open a DOS prompt: Type "cmd" in the Windows search field right of the Windows Start button.
  2. Copy cd "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\AdskLicensing\Current\helper" and paste it in the command prompt (-> right mouse click)
  3. Copy AdskLicensingInstHelper change -pk 927N1 -pv 2022.0.0.F -lm USER and paste it in the command prompt (-> right mouse click)

Does InfraWorks start correctly now?
Regarding graphics adapter, don't bother - if an older InfraWorks version did run fine on your system the new version will do the same.

Regards,

Karsten.

Still not working. I made a short video of what I am doing. It just will no run that command.

at 00:31 of your video copy and paste include "cd". You should be pasting this  cd "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\AdskLicensing\Current\helper"

It looks like I got the command to run, but I don't think it fixed it. See the attached video.

@mccrawlogan Can you please check this link and use the proper command based on your IW?

I went through that and it is still not working. Attached is another video.

Hi @mccrawlogan ,

from your latest screen video it doesn't look like that it's the latest license method issue.
I allowed myself to create a support case for you for our Installation Support Team. That will probably the fastest way to solve the issue.

Karsten.
