Convert Trees to 3d models from Point Cloud

Hi, novice user here,

We have the Point Cloud data from a site survey. I am able to see the information and convert the points of the ground into contours / surface no problem and export them to be used in either CAD or Revit. Is there a way to export the trees using Infraworks or other Autodesk product? We would like to use the point cloud data to create a 3d site model that contains both the vegetation / trees and the contours / shape of the site so we can accurately depict the site conditions when designing the building in the property.

Thank you in advance,

Oliver

Try ReCap Pro. Here is a tutorial on converting point clouds to mesh.

Hi @oliverCL7FH ,

it sounds as if the Vertical Feature Extraction might be an option for you.
You can identify vertical features and replace them with objects from the Style Palette.
See also To model vertical features from point cloud data

Karsten.

I use Global mapper to extract trees from pointcloud. What really improves the visual model in infraworks is to use each trees individual height when importing the data.
