All,
I have had lots of experience with importing surfaces into Infraworks but I am stuck. I created a model using model builder. I opened up the Infraworks model in Civil 3D; I did some design work in SiteOps and exported to Civil 3D (as a LandXML, and as a Civil 3D drawing). I try to import the proposed surface back into infraworks and I get the following error:
Failed to import the data. See the details for further information.
I then tried many different ways to get the surface into the IW model but ultimately get the same error:
- Export surface from Civil 3D as a LandXML
- Export surface from Civil 3D as a DEM
- Tried opening the file in Infraworks from Civil 3D 2020 (IW is 2020)
- Tried opening the file from Infraworks in Civil 3D 2021
- Tried using a blank default template with absolutely nothing in it
- Ensured that Civil 3D is closed when opening in IW
- Exported from SiteOps as a LandXML
- Copied contours from exported Civil 3D drawing, created a new drawing, created a new Civil 3D surface
- Tried creating a brand new IW Model with nothing in it
- Updated patches for Civil 3D and Infraworks as delivered through the autodesk desktop manager
All these lead to the same error.
These are the things I can think of so far. Any ideas on what may be causing IW to not be able to open the Civil 3D drawing and import the Civil 3D surface? I have done this successfully many times that is why I am so baffled. Attached are some of the CAD files, DEM files, LandXML files that I created.
Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated! Trying to finish off my model by tomorrow for a proposal that is due soon! Thanks in advance!!
