Trace in lathe operations

Trace in lathe operations

Sometimes you need to make a odd trajectory in a lathe in order to avoid certain features of the part and it is really difficult to do it with the existing operations, it would be awesome to just sketch the trajectory you want your tool to follow and just simulate it with the operation trace.

Hi @jose.albertohehi

Is there a specific example file you can attach here that you are unable to machine using current turning strategies? That would be helpful for us to analyze and provide a solution for.

Hi @akash.kamoolkar

Give me sometime to make an example that explains the problem better.

I can give an example i had where a trace path would be perfect, i needed to make a custom forming tool and i needed it follow a specific path, i tried many ways to make it in fusion but i couldn't find a way so i decided to program the gcode by hand. Hope this explains a little more while i make a design to explain myself.

I agree, this would be a very handy feature to set a tool to follow a 2d sketch so it removes stock in the simulator as well.
