Autosave
Have the ability to autosave your work in hsm so that you do not lose your work (ie, toolpaths and any sketch geometry), and have the ability to turn it on or off if that is something you don't want on if you choose.
As the HSM data is embedded in the Inventor files, we rely on Inventor to do the actual save. Unfortunately, Auto-save has been a long standing request with Inventor.
When/if Inventor adds autosave it will apply to Inventor HSM data as well.
I'm going to archive this idea but recommend that you vote for this over on the Inventor idea station:
You could still implement it as long as there is no Inventor function. It might never happen because the request has been there for years without anything happening.
You could also implement the possibility to specify a temp folder like in other CAM systems. There the files in which a setup is available will be saved in an interval.
Even if several files are open. This does not take so much time.
There are already extensions for Inventor that offer an AutoSave. Why shouldn't HSM be able to build in a similar function?
I also have no problem buying the extension, it's more about the principle that Autodesk does nothing to solve the problem.
