A really handy feature would be a toggle button to change the value from positive to negative and vice versa in the dialogue boxes. Often when extruding you pull one way or enter a value, only to realise the preview is showing you the opposite of what you want. So you delete the value and type it in again or you use the home key and add a minus, however its done at the moment is not a slick as it would be with a +/- toggle in the box. Animation, is a useful part of Fusion 360 to show the design and to explode it into its omponents and even make a drawing from that. The one feature I think Animation is missing is to be able to drive joints or animate them.  Animating the model or capturing a motion study would all be really valuable. When you have put together a design that has a number of moving features (Joints) this is one of the key features of the design and for colleagues those movements, the clearances to other parts or just simply understanding the concept is often as important in communicating the design as the design itself.  Adding this feature to the Animation panel would be a great step forward. I would like to eb able to control aspects of an inserted part. If an inserted part in Fusion 360 is similar to an Xref in Autocad, there is an advantage in Xref's because you can control the visibility of their layers as you can with the native ones. In Fusion when a part is inserted, its "visibility" gets inserted too, so Origins, joints, construction information all cloud the parent drawing. Am I missing something or is it necessary to go back to the Inserted drawing and turn these off, as the option in the parent drawing is greyed out/ineffective for me. I would like to be able to turn these off (or on) without having to leave the drawing I have inserted the part into. Show More

I would like to have a system of dimensions within the design canvas. Just as you have folders for SKETCH, ORIGIN, CONSTRUCTION, ANALYSIS etc. I would like to be able to put a dimension on a component's face or edge and make it visible or not the same as you can with SKETCH's. In Autocad you can create a layer and add dimensions, hiding them as required.  Something similar in Fusion 360 would allow length's radius or diameter's to be referenced and added for instance to Properties/Description for when a BOM is added to a Drawing. You can of course use INSPECT, but the info disappears when you close MEASURE.  By adding dimensions to componentes and making them visible in a folder when required or hidden like ORIGIN would be really useful to match a particular feature. One thing I was struggling with is being able to show colleagues without access to Fusion 360 the way a design was operating displayed when animating joints. As an example we are trying to adapt the electrode arms of a spot welder.  It is necessary for one electrode to pass through the other, obviously without touching.  Until I came across Screencast, I had to use still images. Screencast enabled me to set up a motion study loop and pan all around the components showing the clearance.  I captured and downloaded the video and sent it to my colleagues who instantly could see we were on the right track. Animation is good and brilliant for exploded diagrams, but needs to have joint animation as part of it to be the full ticket. So I think Screencast has a wider use, or something similar in Fusion 360 as joints and particularly joints with motion links a often key to demonstrating a design. Show More

The Properties Description field is very useful as the information entered appears in the BOM. I often use it for cut lengths on materials.  It would be really useful for me to have a total bax at the bottom of the column to see the total amount of material I need. This might be a bit specific to my use but an additional field in the properties that appears in the BOM maybe called Dimension, would allow for the major dimension to be added and that might make it easier for a Totals box, assuming similar data had been input or the materials selected from the Animation explosion were the same material. Its nice in a design to group the components into assemblies and tidy the browser.  Having got through most of the design and tidied up in this way its now time for me to print the drawings and explode the parts in an Animation that I want to populate a BOM. Unfortunately I have to break the assemblies into all the independant components or its only the Assemblies that populate the BOM. It would be good to have an option to be selective about what appears in the BOM regardless of its level a bit like in the way that you can deselect a component from either the Animation or drawing and therefore be able to maintain the clean Browser structure. I sometimes use the description field in properties to enter the length of a part for when I am creating a cutting list. Working in Animation to explode the parts and making a drawing with a BOM. When the BOM populates, I discover gaps where I haven't entered information to a part.  Also I tweak the positions from within the animation, so i am going backwards & forwards between the Model Animation and the Drawing.   It would be good for me to be able to get to the properties from within Animation to add the missing "Description" at the same time as I am positioning the parts. At the moment I have to leave the Animation return to Design, add the info then return to Animation if I need to and back to the Drawing.   Show More
