Why is my Fusion360 so slow?

We're testing it out but can't hardly work with it.

When I try to work online I receive the error :

"Sufficient data not found to switch to Offline mode. Application will go online now."

I work on a 3.2 i5 Imac with 16GB of RAM. Graphics card : AMD RAdeon R9 M390 2GB

All my other graphic software (even 3d design apps) are working fine, but Fusion refuses.

Thanks for the help.

Hi @Anonymous,

That does seem strange. Can you please open Fusion and go to the help menu in the top-right corner. There is an option to collect the diagnostic log files - please do so and attach the .zip file to a post so that I can examine this. It should give me a better understanding of what is going on. Once we address this, perhaps the slowness will go away. If not, we can troubleshoot further.

Thanks,

Hi @Anonymous,

Sorry for the delayed response. I took a peek at your logs, and nothing really stands out to me as a typical network issue. I keep seeing:

20180228T085056 E CloudBrowser: No visible Project. ThreadID: 34097, Function: auto Ns::CloudBrowser::GroupCollImpl::downloadData(const Ns::HString &, std::function<void (const Ns::Status &, Groups *)>, bool, std::shared_ptr<GrpContainer>)::(anonymous class)::operator()(std::shared_ptr<Request>) const, Line: 319

Just to check:

  • was Fusion ever once working successfully online?
  • Have you ever changed your email address
  • What happens when you log into A360?

I would like to take a deeper peek at this. Perhaps we can schedule a remote session for Monday? Feel free to email me at james.youmatz@autodesk.com

Thanks,

Hi

I have 2 accounts. 1 I use for my professional activity (AUTOCAD LT) and one for my hobby (FUSION)

Now I've logged in with my pro account, but got the same troubles.

Afterwards I saw I wasn't working in a project. I made one and suddenly everything worked fine.

Also I put the app on my second display that isn't a retina display...

I've grown used to the fact that Fusion 360 is just REALLY slow and, because it relies on network connectivity to work, I will never know if the slowness is caused by network issues or by buggy code.

However, software that runs locally and fetches all its data from local storage is faster. I like the cloud as an option. With Fusion 360 the cloud is forced on users. For this reason, many users don't see Fusion as a professional tool but rather a tool for hobbyists who need to do a bit of 3D printing at home. If Autodesk want Fusion 360 to be a serious contender, then they need to stop force-feeding us this whole cloud silliness at once.

Hey James,

My fusion program is also incredibly slow. 😞

I am also having trouble with A360 iphone app in which none of my drawings are visible.

When I would like to "simulate," this is also a no go...

Haaaaaalp!

All the best
