Removing a vane from an impeller.

Hi, I'm a novice in the 3d modelling world, but I can usually work most things out as I go.  This one has me stumped though.

The problem I have is I'd like to 3d print just the vane from an existing impeller STEP file.  I can't for the life of me work out the easiest way of doing this?  Effectively I need to remove all of the shroud and just be left with the vanes by themselves.  Any advice would be most appreciated, or point me in the direction of a video that explains something similar.

Delete the faces you don't need, and then close over the gaps, as required.

Might help...

Thanks, I have tried doing that, but I keep getting an error message saying that the selected face/s can't be deleted.

Ok, Select Do not Capture Design history, (Right click file name > bottom of Menu)

ntlad.PNG

Move to Surface area,

Unstitch the model,

Delete the surfaces that you don't want

Deselect any chaining boxes....

I then patched the end plate, and the top and bottom openings.

Might help....
