No alignment suggested by geometry could be found

We have been using Fusion to reverse engineer scanned meshes in order to reconstruct CAD for a couple of years now.

We are using the same exact process, however we are now unable to align any of our scans to our master origin. It always returns the same error code, "No alignment suggested by geometry could be found". I have even return to scans that we have already had success with, and I get the same error there, with the same process that worked previously.(I insert mesh -> create component -> activate component -> create form -> create my planes -> finish form -> align previously created plane with origin planes)

I'm wondering if this is a known problem that is being worked on, or if there was a change to how this alignment should be done that I am not aware of.
