Starting with our update currently scheduled for November 9th, 2016, Fusion 360 will be supporting down to Mac OS X 10.10 (was previously 10.9). To decrease any possible interruption, please consider upgrading to a more current version prior to our November Fusion 360 update.

Hey Kingson (long time no talk!) - as of right now, the next update is currently planned for this Wednesday, October 5th at 6pm PST.

@brianrepp If we had Fusion installed on a macOS 10.9 machine (through our EDU license) and it needs to be re-installed on the same machine today, what is our recourse? Support has been unable to provide any method for re-installing the app. Now we are stuck with a machine that can not use the software as it could in the past.
Fusion 360 is a cloud based CAD application that needs to connect to online services. In order to do this, it must be up to date. Previous versions that support 10.9 may not be able to connect to the cloud services.
Is updating your operating system to 10.10 or later a possible solution?

If we had notice about the support change earlier we probably could have planned for it during our summer deployment (in EDU most of our major updates are queued up for May - July as we have a variety of software to test and validate). At this point in our academic year upgrading to a different major OS version isn't a route we take.

I understand with Fusion relying on cloud communication and having also a general update cycle, I think you still have to be aware of how infrastructure is managed at universities as well as in deign studios.
I am quite fortunate that I have a red phone line to our IT department and can do many quick fixes but reality is that in most universities PCs and Macs are updated with disk images that were created first. But not everybody is. Faculty and designers also often don't have admin access.
Those updates should ideally be best done when no semester is currently on. OS X 10.9 Maverick is also a tick old but truth is that we tend to be one to two versions behind the trend out of practical reasons - older versions are often more stable. Look at the mess with Win10 ;). Thats why we have Win7.
However besides all that I think this might be a good opportunity to push the browser implementation even more.
Then honestly we can just log into it no matter what OS we are running since we do not deal with installed apps anymore
which on both sides will make updates a lot better 😉

When the new computer arrives, install and login. Everything will be there on the new computer...
