grid keeps disappearing in model environment

in my model environment the grid keeps disappearing. I check the "layout grid" box, it appears briefly and as soon as I do anything it disappears. it seems to uncheck itself. I've read through related threads and although they are marked as solved there doesn't appear to be solution so I'm starting another thread

Hi @Anonymous,

thanks for posting! I have the following questions regarding the behaviour you observed:

  1. Does the grid "uncheck" itself independently of which environment of Fusion 360 you are in (i.e. Model, Patch, etc.=?
  2. Have you set increments or change the grid settings to custom?
  3. Does this happen both the new models and the existing ones?

I would also like to ask you to try the following steps:

  • Restore your settings to defaults (see: How to reset to the default display in Fusion 360)
  • Make sure you have the latest drivers for your graphics card. Based on the screenshot, I assume you are using Mac, so make sure you have the latest system updates.
  • Go to your Profile Name -> Preferences -> Graphics Driver -> Change from Auto-Select to Open GL.

Let me know if that helps. Thanks!

Thanks for your advise Pawel, I went through all your suggestions apart from checking the graphics card, not quite sure how to do that. It’s a one year old IMac so imagine the graphics card is up to date enough. Unfortunately the grid still keeps disappearing.

Hi @Anonymous,

thanks for the reply! If you have all the latest updates for your iMac, the graphics card should be up-to-date as well.

I have a few additional questions:

  • Are you using a mouse or a trackpad? Is the behaviour reproducible for both? If not, could you give me more details about the used device?
  • Could you send us the full System Information (see this LINK on how to collect it)
  • Could you collect and send us the diagnostic files for Fusion 360? (Question mark in the top right corner of the Fusion 360 interface -> Support and Diagnostics -> Diagnostic Log Files)

Thanks in advance!

While it won't help us track the root of the issue, you may also try to resolve it by running our Fusion 360 Cleaner tool perform a clean uninstall of Fusion 360 and re-install the software afterwards: How to do an automatic clean uninstall for Autodesk Fusion 360.

Let me know if that helps.
