At my shop we use several types of CAD programs I use Fusion 360 when a customer sends a stp file the other cad programs in the shop show part numbers of the details while Fusion 360 only show either Body, Plate or tube how do I make it show the detail numbers? I have attached two pictures of the same file on one on Cadia and one on Fusion 360. It makes it very difficult to make a bill of material (BOM) without part numbers
Fusion will keep the names and browser structure for step files upon translation. Check the step/stp export options on the "other program". It is apparently flattening the assembly into a body folder rather than keeping the assembly hierarchy.
If you could share the design it might help solve the mystery.
Hi Phil is there a way to sent just you the file this is for a customer I do not want to make it public
I sent you an email. Thanks!
Thanks Phil I am just going to post one of the more basic stp files and a snippet when the guys open it with Enovia or Cadia it gives a part numbers with fusion it comes as a plate, tube ect I need to figure a way for it to show it as the part numbers. I need to know if it can be done and if so if I have to open it a certain way or if the customer has to save it different. Thanks Dave

This is only a guess, please take it as such. Based on the step file I think this is the issue.

This describes an export workflow that seems to address this issue. Please test it out.
