Fusion 360 Pan/Orbit controls

Hi, apologies up front if I'm missing something obvious but I'm just curious as to whether there are any plans to allow users to customise navigation controls beyond a simple drop-down box to emulate other software? There are forum posts from 2014 saying this is being worked on but was that really the "fix"?

I'm new to Fusion 360 and loving it so far but I hate using MMB for anything and I have two extra buttons on my mouse doing absolutely nothing. I'm expecting a slew of posts from die-hards telling me to just get used to it but it's 2019 and I really don't know why I should be expected to. Seems like people have been asking for years.

Thanks.

This sounds like a configuration best handled by your mouse application.  If you have a Logitech mouse, as I have with extra buttons on the side, then the Logitech application allows you to program these, and your middle mouse button to commands of your choice.  Check on the web for your mouse controller application.

I have Logitech Performance MX mouse and was near imposible midle button click without zoom.

Set no action to wheel tilt in Logitech setpoint SW helps a little bit, but in MS Windows is no way to assign shift key + click to any extra button trought logitech SW. I want Pan/Orbit/Zoom with mouse without keyboard.

After many hours I found the easy working solution, I think for all mouses with extra buttons and scroll wheel.

I have in Fusion preferences "Pan, Zoom, Orbit shortcuts" set to Fusion

1. Install free SW X-Mouse Button Control

2. Uninstall Logitech Setpoint SW (blocking extra button events propagation to other sw)

3.  In system tray right click X-mouse, setup

4. With running Fusion 360 on background  click to add, and select fusion360.exe from running applications list.

5. Select action "Middle Click" for Mouse B

utton 4  (PAN)

6. Select action "Simulated Keys" for Mouse Button 5 (Orbit)

to line Enter custom keys write: {SHIFT}{MMB}

how to send simulated keys select from list option 3- During

block original mouse input is checked

click OK

Thats all.

Scroll wheell zooming, hold button 4 and move mouse for Pan, hold button 5 and move mouse for Orbit.

I have the same solution but there is a bug in it that drives me nuts. Namely when I try to extrude something and the window pops up where to enter a value - if I use the mouse button that has Shift + MMB mapped to it then the value in the Value edit box changes to "?". As if x-mouse is inputting this. This also happens when I switch to other pan/zoom settings in the fusion preferences and map the button accordingly.
