Files from Recent Files Disappearing

I've been working on my first Fusion 360 project (a deck) and I've just installed Fusion 360 onto a new computer, but the only seem to be able to see a version of the file from June 1st (instead of June 14th).

Right when I open up the Fusion 360 though... it gives me a tease and shows me the latest version of the file, but then it disappears. The two pictures is the 'before/after' to show what I mean. The time difference between the pictures is about 0.5s (it took a few tries to get it to show up).

How do I get the newer version of the Deck file to actually show up???

Hi @dsl145,

Thank you for posting! I see two files both named "Deck". Did you actually create two files or just one but separated for some reason?

Could you check if you can access the latest version of Deck in this page? If you see the design, please download it and upload it to your project to see if that helps.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

I had just created the one file, but somehow it got split into the two
iterations. On the fusion app, both files versions show up as separate
iterations with the same file name, but on the link you showed, only the
Jun 1st version shows up.

Thank you for the update! I think the file has not been synced with the cloud properly. Could you launch Fusion on the machine you created the file with, then try the steps below?

1. Switch to offline mode

2. Check if the latest version shows up in the data panel

3. Open the file and save as a new version

4. Switch back to online mode to see if the file gets synced properly

Hopefully this helps! Please let me know if you have any questions.

The latest version did not show up on the data panel (or anywhere) when I
went to offline mode.

Any other suggestions?

I'm sorry the issue is still ongoing. Could you attach the diagnostic file here so that I can take a closer look at the issue? I apologize for the inconvenience.

see attached. I'll also put up the log files from the other computers I've
been using Fusion 360 on.

well the confusing saga continues...

I got to the office and fired up Fusion 360 only to find that:

  1. The newer version of the deck file was showing up correctly
  2. My A360 was not matching my Fusion 360
    1. The A360 looks to be the correct one. I had added some pictures and renamed some files yesterday, but my office computer didn't reflect these changes.
  3. I've uploaded my office diagnostic files
    1. In the post: https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/support/save-not-giving-me-a-file-location-option/m-p/7142068#M3998, mike.tessier was suggesting that it could be my work anti-virus program causing issues.

I've saved the 'new version' of the deck to a new file name, and it's showing up in A360, so I am able to recover the effort that may have been lost... but I'd still like it if this problem of things half showing up and disappearing to just go away.

In the log files that you uploaded, I'm seeing some network errors related to the security certificate.

If you go to the below URL in a web browser:

https://ui-dls360.autodesk.com/fusion/version.txt

Do you see the green lock to indicate that the website is trusted?

Error in log files:

After this error there are ongoing warning, but I believe they may be related to this certificate error.

It might be an issue with the SSL component in Fusion. Is this a Windows 7 computer that you're experiencing the issue on?

Thanks,

the URL is showing up as a trusted site.

Yes, it's a Windows 7 machine.

I just sent you a private message with a potential solution. Can you give that a try and let me know if it helps?

The steps and reboot didn't fix it. I've uploaded the latest diagnostics file for review.

Thanks for the update.

Do you know if the office network is using an authenticating proxy server? There are known limitation if the proxy server needs to be authenticated against and it uses the ‘Negotiate’, ‘NTLM’, or ‘Kerberos’ authentication method.  I'm wondering if this is a contributing factor.

The only workaround I am aware of is to add this list of domains to the exception list of the proxy server. Do you know if the IT department has done this?

Thanks,

Here's the reply from our IT guys:

There won’t be any issues as the proxy servers will be authorized because of the Antivirus policy on your computer, so we can really rule out that issue.

Regarding the list of Domains, they were excluded from the firewall too so we can rule out that possibility too.

Hi Danny,

Have you ever opened the project the disappearing design is in on the machine where the design keeps disappearing from My Recent Data? Can you try this on that machine (Go back from My Recent Data to Projects list, open the project that this design is in and let it's content get synchronized? No need to go into any folders / subfolders, if any. Then, go to My Recent Data again...

Does the design keep disappearing from My Recent Data after these steps?

Regards,

Zdenek

I opened and closed all the files that weren't syncing and now they seem to
be. Everything's all better now.

I think just opening the project itself could be sufficient - no need to open every design to stop it from disappearing. I'll do some testing to confirm it for myself :). Anyway, seems you have found a workaround that works for you.

Regards,

Zdenek
