Emboss Not Working On Windows PC

I was working through a tutorial with an emboss on the face of a cylinder. The emboss feature's 'OK' button after selecting the face/text is greyed out on my Windows machine. However, if I open the same project on my M3 Macbook Pro, and attempt to do the same on there, it works just fine.

Any ideas on why this may be happening?

Welcome to the forum!  What happens if you select the other option under effect, making the emboss go down into the cylinder instead of standing up from the surface.
