I have succeeded at using the sweep function for making the veins of a 3D model of wings. But there are particular veins that say "Compute Failed" or "profile does not intersect the path", even though they do intersect.

Have you tried to use pipe feature instead of sweep?

I would use the T-Splines Pipe command.

It's a bit tedious to use, but less tedious than using sweep.  You will have to clean up your sketch, get rid of duplicate sketch points, and missing coincident constraints:

But, you can get what I think you want:

I only did this for a portion of this model (attached)
