UI bug when setting dimension tolerance

When setting the tolerances on dimensions in a drawing, I have encountered a minor UI glitch. When I go to set the tolerance, I change the type from Symmetrical to Deviation, and begin entering my bounds. While entering the bounds, the type will revert back to Symmetrical, requiring me to change it again. This sometimes occurs multiple times before I have successfully entered in the tolerances.

Unfortunately I was not able to replicate the issue with a simple model on a new drawing, and I am not able to share the affected document.

Hello @SorenJFox ,

Thank you for reporting this. That does sound like unexpected behavior when editing dimension tolerances in the Drawing workspace.

Since you mentioned that you were not able to reproduce the issue in a new drawing, the behavior may be specific to the design or drawing setup. Having the dataset would help us investigate what might be triggering the UI reset.

Could you please share an F3Z file of one of the designs where the problem occurs?

If the file contains sensitive information, you are also welcome to send it directly to me at Sujay.dsouza@autodesk.com.

Once we have the file, we can try to reproduce the issue and look into it further. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Hello @SorenJFox ,

As you mentioned, I am also not able to reproduce the issue at my end on simple model, may be issue is drawing specific, internally @dsouzasujay has shared me the file but it is a design file and not drawing file for which you are having issue, it will be good if you can send me the drawing file and also a quick video when you face the issue.

Thanks!

Hi @SorenJFox

Our development team has reviewed the behavior and noted that when the upper and lower tolerance values are equal in magnitude, for example +0.1 and -0.1, Fusion automatically treats this as a symmetrical tolerance (±0.1). This is expected behavior based on how tolerances are interpreted.

To better understand what you are experiencing and to investigate further, we would need to review your specific case. Could you please share the drawing file where you are seeing this behavior?

If possible, a short video demonstrating the issue would also help, but the drawing file alone should be sufficient for us to proceed with deeper analysis.

Looking forward to your response.
