Transparent objects and Offset

For some time now, I have encountered transparent objects that are in the same shapes as previously created bodies, but are not sketches of those bodies, and are also not planes used  to create said bodies as turning off the bodies, planes or sketches (or all three) will not remove them. The problem is that, like any item in Fusion 360, you cannot get past them to work on surfaces beneath them. I sometimes have managed to delete them using the Delete tool, but they always reappear, usually before I can perform the task I had removed them to do.

My second question is this: is it only possible to Offset a surface or body once? Sometimes I want to trim a both sides of a body that I have extruded though another body using the technique recently explained by Lars Christensen on one of his videos, But once I have Offset and Split the body in question, it will not permit me to repeat the procedure to trim the other side.

I could not understand what you are referring to in your first question.  You will have to take some screen captures or include your model for others to understand your issue and help you solve it.  The second question is also a little vague.  You refer to a video and it would have really helped to attach the link of that video to your question.  The offset command is only available in sketching and since you mentioned splitting a body, I am guessing your are speaking about using offset work planes.  I did a screencast on using offset work planes to split a body twice and also described the combine command as another guess.

Please be more descriptive when you post again.

Thanks for the screencast. I guess being new to Fusion 360, I had hoped that another modeler might have experienced the same issue and might provide me with a solution/explanation. I apologize for my imprecise postings. I guess I viewed the Forum as some sort of informal chat room. In my defense, I have provided screen captures and shared my projects with others in the forum and still didn't receive any help. It certainly is not my intention to waste anybody's time by asking for solutions without providing adequate information. I will look for help elsewhere. Also, if I may, your statement that the Offset tool only exists in sketching is not entirely correct. It also exists in the Patch environment under the Create menu, which is where I am working. FYI. Thanks. See ya.
