suddenly unable to select a component to combine

looked around for others that might have the same issue, and the most i can find are some tips on selection filters.   the components are not set to not-selectable.

i'm unable to select components for combination in older models where i was previously able. all models are affected, so i looked for other global settings that might turn off selection for the combine-tool.  nothing leaped out at me.

i'd be really thankful for a tip here.

You file works just fine.  I would make sure you have your selection filters on.  Just a guess.

Try something for me,  with NO command running, you should be able to highlight bodies and components in your design space and Browser.  Can You?  If not, you have a bigger problem than Combine.

I think it is time to visit the Fusion 360 Service Utility and do a Repair.  Make sure all other applications are closed when you do this and maybe even consider disabling your Anti-Virus during the process.

I am not sure if we already covered this step...

If you create a brand new file with two simple bodies - does the behavior persist in that new file?

I am out of suggestions as well.  I hope you find the issue soon.  If you do, post it back, I would love to know what it was.

looks pretty hopeless:

tried to use the utility to uninstall.

i'm directed to a webpage that asks me why.

i close that, as instructed in order to proceed with uninstall.

nothing happens.

if i clickopen the fusion 360 app, it says that the latest is already installed. which definitely tells me the uninstall didn't work.

issues persists.

then i created another account using another email, hoping for a fresh install.

asks me if i want to use the latest version already installed.

clicking no: nothing happens.

clicking yes: issue persists.

sadly, i can no longer use fusion 360. have to move to another product.

thanks for all your help anyway.

i went to another computer entirely:

created a different account at autodesk.

installed fusion 360.

am able to select targets for combine action.

i think if fusion could actually be uninstalled from the device where it isn't working, i could get it working there, which is my device that i use for everything else i do, and is mobile.

but that's the problem now it seems.

so the solution, i think, is to go nuclear: uninstall fusion 360 and re-install.

but the uninstall process goes nowhere after i answer the survey about about why i want to uninstall.

how do i uninstall fusion 360. ?

i spoke too soon.

i closed fusion 360 after it installed and ran properly.

restarting fusion 360 brings me to login again.

i use the credentials that were successful previously and am greeted by a prompt to create- or join-a-team.

both options are disabled. there is no option for except to go back.

sadly, i really have no more time to deal with this anymore.

i've begun my subscription to another 3d tool.

thanks for your time.

regards.

i thought that's what the uninstall option in the utility does.

is there a different link else where for a "clean uninstall" ?

there is no option for a "clean uninstall" in fusion360.app's package contents.

i can't proceed past the select-or-create-a-team dialogue because both options are disabled.

Hi,

1. maybe another user has the MAC version
2. the manual CLEAN method of the utilities is also an alternative.
3. I always keep a 2nd user profile (system) with a fusion installation (same account) for such cases.
