suddenly unable to select a component to combine

looked around for others that might have the same issue, and the most i can find are some tips on selection filters.   the components are not set to not-selectable.

i'm unable to select components for combination in older models where i was previously able. all models are affected, so i looked for other global settings that might turn off selection for the combine-tool.  nothing leaped out at me.

i'd be really thankful for a tip here.

Can you File>Export your *.f3d file to your local drive and then Attach it here to a Reply?

Is the Component berende active?

Can you show image with the sub-nodes expanded.

We really need your model to troubleshoot your issue.  Open your model in Fusion 360, select the File menu, then Export and save to your hard drive.  Attach your model to a Forum reply.

Hi,

Combining is done for bodies not for components.
What happens when you open the corresponding components in the browser and then select the bodies there?

Please share the file.

File > export > save as f3d on local drive  > attach it to the next post.

No, the Forum users are looking for the actual model, not a screen capture.  Go back to one of the previous post and see how to attach your MODEL to your post.

Of course I was expecting you to drill all the way down...

This should have been understood...

If you drill ALL of the way down are the Bodies marked as un-selectable as shown in image above?  (red circle and line - not symbol)

Can you post screenshot similar to this...

Have you rebooted the computer and the issue persists?

I cannot reproduce the issue using your file.

You have created the three bodies, you want to combine, each in a different component.  Move the two bodies, from the second two components to the first, by dragging the bodies in the Browser and then the Combine will succeed.  Model is attached.

@jhackney1972

I can select and Combine in any scenario - I cannot reproduce the issue as shown in the OPs videos.

I agree with you, I could combine the bodies in separate components also.  The combine is going to place the final body in the component you started with, when selecting bodies, and removing them from the other components so I thought I would clean it up for him ahead of time.

I am stumped - I'll leave it to the #1 expert to figure out.

Congratulations John... 😎

yes, i used to be able to combine bodies from different components as you describe with the good result.

now, when i click to select anything to combine, i THINK the mouse click registers because it triggers the tooltip: select target..
