Solver Error (local)

Hi,

I had to do a clean install yesterday after a windows update (OS Build 19041.928) seemed to break fusion. I basically got an error saying you are offline despite having internet connection which worked fine. Anyway clean install fixed that issue but I then went to try a very simple static stress analysis problem and the simulation fails everytime.

At first I thought maybe the part is just way to weak... So i reduced the force right down to 5N and removed the hollowed out structure (i tend to simulate 3d printed parts as hollow with a thickness of the solid walls, this gives conservative analysis results) but still i get a failure and a pretty useless failure message.

picture of the setup below. single part subjected to compression load and fixed on one side. I've also attached a screenshot of the error dialog in fusion as well as the error log file. As you can see i tried a whole bunch of variations to try get it to solve. It always meshes fine then just instantly fails at the solving stage.

Hi @davidPR52T ,

Can you give a try solving on Cloud?

Let me know if that works.

If it still fails then export by File>Export *.f3d/*.f3d file to your local drive and then Attach it here to a Reply.

Hi,

I have just tried the Cloud solve (I'll admit i try to avoid that as I have very limited cloud credits available which i try to save for studies which cannot be done locally!) and it worked straight away.

Note i reverted back to the actual study i wanted to do with the hollowed out structure and the correct 188N load.

I then modified the load by 1N so that it would let me try a local solve and i get an instant failure on the solving phase again.

Hi @davidPR52T ,

Can you check and provide below details?

  1. Go to
    • C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Local\Autodesk\webdeploy\production\<Alpha Numeric digits>\NASTRANSolver
    • Check if you have files in it.
  2. In Windows, select Start  and enter dxdiag into the search box on the taskbar.
    • Attach the DxDiag.txt to the next reply
  3. Export by File>Export *.f3d/*.f3d file to your local drive and then Attach it here to a Reply.

Hi @davidPR52T ,

Apologise for responding late.

  1. Go to
    • C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Local\Autodesk\webdeploy\production\<Alpha Numeric digits>\NASTRANSolver I don't have the folder at all?

Can you try finding the NASTRANSolver folder in below location or somewhere in C Drive?
C:\Users\***\AppData\Local\Autodesk\webdeploy

If you can't find the NASTRANSolver folder then Nastran package is not installed successfully, So you cant solve simulation studies locally.

I was able to solve the study successfully.
