Sketch won't accept dimensions for rectangular pattern

I am trying to pattern a simple circle in a sketch, but Fusion will not accept dimension inputs for extent or spacing once the circle has been created, selected, then use rectangular pattern tool.  Here's what I've done:

Edit sketch

Create circle and select the created circle

Select rectangular pattern.

I get the dialog box and can drag the arrow along the direction I want to pattern, and direction changes, but the dialog box will not accept precise input from the keyboard to specify the "extent" I want my pattern to reach.  When I click into the box (both on the dropdown and the little box by the direction arrows, it will not accept numeric input.   The dropdown box will allow selection of previously entered numbers, but it will not allow entry of new distances.

Thank for help.  I've watched numerous videos and read posts on the support but can't figure out the problem.

Any particular reason you want/need to pattern in the Sketch? Can you pattern from that one circle instance in the Solid modeling workspace for example?

Hi,

Like @Warmingup1953 I also recommend not creating the pattern in the sketch, but as a feature (extrude/cut). This has the advantage that the new holes are created immediately when the number is changed.
Only one circle is created and positioned in the sketch.
