Simple extrude not working.

Hi.

First of all.... I´m a complete newbie when it comes to Fusion, but I do have a 8 hour a day Solidworks background... which is still on going.

So it might just be that I´m doing it wrong, kinda the Solid way which might not be the way in Fusion.

Please keep that in mind. 🙂

As you can see in my screencast... making a new component and extruding works just perfectly but that darn sketch I made in the previous component is not reacting at all to the extrude command.

Been searching the forums but  had no luck in finding a similar issue.

Please help me out fellows...

Even though I added it in the original post.

I find getting the screencast in posts reliably is easier if you copy the embed link and paste into the HTML tap.

When you edit your sketch I noticed you have show profiles disabled on the sketch palette.

Hi @petrol_junkie,

The problem in this design is that "Show Profiles" is turned off.  So, to get Extrude to work, you need to turn it back on.  I've seen enough of these where the user did not remember turning off profiles, so I'm beginning to suspect a bug here that is disabling profiles when it should not be.  We'll look into that.

Also, this reminds me that we should maybe have a check here:  If any visible sketches do not have profiles enabled, this should be a warning.

Once again...How ya doing Jeff 🙂

Yeah I was pretty sure it was because of my own lack of knowledge...

But just as you wrote... that´s an option that a newbie like me pays no paid attention to... cause you kinda expect it to be enabled.

And I did make a couple of test sketches, read 14, just to make sure that I haven´t  missed anything.

But as soon as I made it more "intricate" it stopped working.

Might be a bug or just me being a bit new to the software. I´ll leave that to you.

PS:

Thanks for the quick response and the willing to help, I´m impressed by the whole community that way.
