Help please.   Im trying to follow basic instructions and come unstuck as video says right click to open the 'Marking menu' however, right clicking fails to open the menu or do anything else for that matter. Using a MacBook Pro, 2011vinatge and an Apple Bluetooth mouse.

Many thanks, Nige

Hi @Anonymous,

Welcome to the Fusion 360 community!

I'm sorry you are experiencing this issue. Would you explain how the menu fails? Is there any error messages? Was it stopped your screen?

If possible, could you record your issue through ScreenCast to better understand?

Have you tried it without mouse? Smiley Sad

I look forward to your reply.

Many thanks,

Ahreum.

Hi Ahreum
Thank you for your attention to this. When I say the right click fails I
mean it produces no result, nothing happens, the expected menu doesn't
appear. I have tried using the MacBook Tracpad and the same happens, right
clicking does not cause the expected menu option to appear.
Kind regards
Nigel

Hi @Anonymous,

You are unable to see the Marking menu. oh.... Smiley SadI'm sorry I've never seen this... OK let's find a solution together.

Have you check this option? https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/fusion-360/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Menu-missing-from-the-main-ribbon-in-Fusion-360.html

Have you tried a clean uninstall and reinstall Fusion 360?

If you are using an Antivirus program, could you disable when installing again?

and could you share your diagnostics file and system information?

How to get Mac system information.

Go to the Apple menu and choose About This Mac. In the About This Mac window, click the System Report... button to open System Report.

I look forward to your reply.

Many thanks,

Ahreum.

Hi Ahreum.

Thank you again for your suggestions. I have found the source of the problem. It appears that Apple's Bluetooth mouse, which doesn't have a scroll wheel, does not interface properly with Fusion 360. The fix is to use an 'ordinary mouse' that has a scroll wheel and the traditional left and right buttons. That has solved the problem.

Again thank you

Nige

Ok I just had this same problem, am new to this program but after pressing many buttons I found control and one click on the track pad brings up the menu on the model, the same if you right clicked on a typical mouse. Hope this helps

I also faced this problem with the Mac touchpad. However, by trial and error I found that holding CTRL while left clicking brings up the context menu.

Suggesting reinstalling the app is a terrible advice.

You need to configure the mouse button in system preferences, especially if it's news, mac smart mouse not pre configured out of the box. Definitely worked for me. Hope this helps!

This looks like it's an issue that keeps regressing. This issue is not from the lack of setting up the right click on the mouse in System Preferences. I have not tested on the latest version nor have I read all of the release notes (if they even are this detailed) to see if there was a fix for this issue. As stated it seems to be an issue that arises from time to time and probably needs some unit tests written for this issue to prevent basic functionality like this breaking in the future.

Will monitor and report back period of time it took to stop working.
