Recovering old files from webdeploy folder?

Maybe about 5 years ago I won a membership to a makerspace in a drawing, and started using Fusion to create a design to 3d print.  I didn't really have enough time to work on it, so I let my membership lapse and didn't think about it again until recently.

About 2 months ago I tried to open the old design again, and it was gone.  After some digging it seemed that Fusion only saves to the cloud, from which you delete anything that goes idle.  Which is a shocking design failure.  If I had known at the time, I would have saved it locally.

Today I noticed that my ~Library/Application Support/Autodesk/ is 8.8GB, and the form posts about that suggest it may include some cached data.

Is it possible to recover that old design, either from some hidden cloud archive or from somewhere on my computer?

If indeed files are deleted after a inactivity period, then they are gone from the cloud. You should try to get a confirmation from Autodesk support. Otherwise make sure that you are logging in with the correct Autodesk account (the same used way back) and that you look for your files in both personal storage and team hub.

As for locally stored files, they should be in F3D format. So if you find them, copy them and then re-upload them you should have at least the latest saved version of your projects.

Hi @meKHZYE ,

Two things that you can try to see if the data is still there. First, I would verify that the data is still stored in Fusion Team (the cloud). To do this, visit login.autodesk360.com in a web browser and make sure you login with the same Autodesk Account you created the data with 5 years ago.

If the data does not exist there, it may still exist in the local cache files - which you pointed out seems to have a good amount of size in the Autodesk folder. To check for the offline cache data:

Macintosh HD > Users > Username > Library > Application Support > Autodesk > Autodesk Fusion 360 > (alphanumeric folder name) > W.Login

Within W.Login you should see an F folder. The offline cache would be in the F folder, however by default within Fusion 360, this cache does get deleted after 60 days. However, if you haven't used Fusion is a long time, its possible that deletion has not happened.

Thanks,

The first thing I did to find the old model was to open Fusion, would that trigger the purge?

I looked for f3d files with `

find ~/Library/Application\ Support/Autodesk/ -iname \*.\?3d`, which found

None of which are in `W.Login/F`, so I assume they're part of the app rather than my model.  The ones with UUID names are between 19kB and 20kB, `WIPDocumentMetaDataMgr.f3d` is zero bytes, and `GenericModel.f3d` is 498643 bytes

As far as I know I've only ever had one Autodesk account.  Why is having multiple accounts so common?  How could I find out if I have more?

I thought this was the support forum, what's the other way I should contact support?
