"Rail Not Smooth" Lofting Error

Hi!

I'm trying to make a computer mouse by creating a loft between profiles with rails. But when I try to select one of the rails, Fusion tells me that the rail is not smooth. It definitely should be, since I made the arc tangent to the lines on both sides. Did I do something wrong, and how can I fix it?

I've attached some images to show where the problem is. Please ignore the fact that I've barely dimensioned anything yet because I'll do that later.

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks! 🙂

Hi Guenther,

Thanks for the response, I really appreciate it! After cleaning up the sketch, the error message seems to still be the same. Should I re-upload my file with the fixed sketch?

I've tried to redo this section of the sketch multiple times, but still with no luck and the program refuses to loft. Is there something else I'm missing that's causing this error?

Can you File>Export your *.f3d file to your local drive and then Attach it here to a Reply?

Q1. Are your sketches tangent continuous?

Here's the updated .f3d file.

I would make sure all curves are tangent continuous.

After making the top curve continuous, it seems to have fixed the "rail not smooth" error but it now says that the rails don't intersect all profiles even though all intersections should be projected. Also, how did you get the red graph, and how do you read it? I'm a beginner so this is new to me. Thanks 🙂

It turns out that I somehow did something to accidentally delete my coincident constraints in the back, and after fixing that now I'm back to having the error as rail not smooth. Here's the latest file.

we are looking into problems in this category.  We think it is a too-aggressive tolerance on the tangency check.  I had to replace the arc with a spline to get around it.
