"Application not responding"

Hi

I've been using fusion for a year, and it has always been tricky to manage. I thought it was due to my poor internet connection that the application would some into difficulty and crash. I just read up on this and found some useful support feedback.

It crashes and when clicking on the app icon in OSX "application not responding" appears.

I'm running a MBP 2014 i7 2.5Ghz, 16gb ram, NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 2 GB, Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB

Please can you let me know why this happens, I have submitted 2 logs today from such instances.

My internet is a good as it will get today! at 12mb/s

many thanks for your help.

what operations are you doing when this happens?  Does it happen in every design (for instance, an empty design, or one that contains one cube)?  Or, is this limited to an existing design?  If so, how large is this design?  Are you willing to share it here?  It is important to note that some operations on large designs can be very expensive, and the OS may report "not responding", just because it is really busy.  In those cases, if you wait long enough, the operation may succeed.

It happens "all the time", with all of my files... My files are in the range of 300mb... I use the dogbone extension lots which is based on sketches, I believe this is very hungry on the CPU... Maybe this is the issue.

I also have files which never seem to load to the cloud, so this could also be causing issues within the program.

can't add a file as the limit is 71mb...

Hope this helps, do you have access to the crash reports? thanks

if your files are in that size range, I'm guessing that they are very large designs.  Can you try it on a very small design and see if you see the same thing?  Trying to work out whether this is some kind of a general problem, or related to the size of the design.  Also, what specific operation are you doing at the time?  Are you creating sketch geometry?  Are you creating tool paths?  And, finally, have you let it "just run"?  Say, over lunch, or even over night?

There are other ways of sharing the design.  If you have a commercial license, you can use Share Public Link and send me that link in a Direct Message here.  Or, you can upload the design to some file sharing service like DropBox and send me a link, if you are willing.
