moving a cross section view within a drawing

Hello

I want to move a cross section view to a location on the drawing that isn't in line with the parent view. I know I once learned a magic keystroke that would enable this, but now I can't remember what it is, nor can I find it in the forums. Can anyone jog my memory for this?

By the way, is there anyplace I can get a list of keyboard commands for fusion 360?

Thanks

Kevin

EDIT: Whoops, I mistakenly missed the word "drawing" so my answer is totally wrong and I have thusly erased it 😕

Hi @kevin399ML

Breaking or restoring the alignment of projected or section views is effortless in Fusion 360. Simply hit the Shift key while dragging a view to break or restore alignment, it’s that easy!

Here’s a quick video showing Alignment in action:

Great, thank you. My issue was finding the right order. I had tried the shift key, along with ctrl, alt, etc. Even after watching your video it still took me a couple minutes to figure out how to do this. Holding shift and dragging doesn't work. Hitting shift then dragging doesn't work. You have to click the object, start to drag, briefly press and then release shift, then finish dragging. For whatever reason, this sequence isn't intuitive for me...

Anyway, thanks again.

Also, is there a list anywhere of keyboard commands for fusion 360? I would love to bookmark it or print it so I don't have to post these questions to the forum. Thanks

Thanks for this very useful tip. As you had mentioned, it was not intuitive at all until you figure it out. Should be a simple right click on the view and there should be a 'break alignment option' as well for beginners.

This is not at all intuitive. Could we get a UI improvement here?

@jlarsonLP454 This usability improvement is already on the roadmap aiming to make 'Toggle view alignment' more seamless and discoverable.
