The green midpoint line demonstrated in the videos I've watched is not showing up on lines in my Fusion360. Is there something I am missing?

Hi @jeffreyalanbeaudoin,

I'm not exactly sure what you are referring to here.  Can you provide a bit more information?  What command are you using when you expect to see a midpoint line?  The only thing I can think of offhand is that you need to hold down the Shift key during the Dimension and constraint commands.

Thank you for your response. The videos I have watched have shown a green
point as indicating the midpoint of a line. When I highlight a line in my
software, no green midpoint line appears.

Below is a video showing the use of the line midpoint during line creation (no action necessary, the triangle will show when you get near the midpoint) and dimensioning/constraining (hold down Shift to show the midpoint triangle for these commands).  Is this what you saw in the training videos?

The video should be embedded right in my post.  What browser are you using?  If all else fails, you can see it here:  http://autode.sk/2zi69C4

I watched the video. Holding shift does not produce a green midpoint line
on my end!

Can you record a video of what you are seeing?  You can download Screencast here:  https://knowledge.autodesk.com/search-result/caas/simplecontent/content/download-autodesk-screencast...

The only thing that I can think of offhand is that the lines are not in the sketch you are currently editing.  If you can share the design here, it would help.

@jeffreyalanbeaudoin, did you mean to add a video or screenshot to your last post?  Also, if possible, please share your design here - that will help a lot in figuring this out.

Hi Jeff,

I did add a screen shot, yes. Nobody seems to recieve by screen shots, or
know what "midpoint of a line green dot" I am talking about, which is
amazing because it is referenced often in many of the instructional videos
I have completed.

On another note, is there a proper "order of operations" guide for applying
constraints? I understand what all of them do, but the order of application
tends to be a problem.

Thank you

Yes, unfortunately, your screen shots do not seem to get added.  What browser are you using to write your posts?  In Chrome, I always just click on the "Photos" icons, select an image, and it is inserted inline in the post.

And yes, I, also, am not sure what "midpoint of a line green dot" you are referring to.  The preview for midpoint of a sketch line is a triangle, with an "X" indicator, which can be blue or green depending on which Environment you have chosen:

Is that what you are referring to?  If you could post a link to the instructional videos you are referencing (and what time in the video), it might help sort this out.

At what time step in the video?

Are you in an active command (like Line or Coincident)?
