Line Pattern along outside of my cactus pot

What is the best way to get a line pattern along the outside curve of my cactus pot model?

Maybe something similar to this?  Any advice would be much appreciated!

Thank you for taking the time to create that screencast.  Any idea how to prevent the little circle blank area?

Hi,

Sorry, I hadn't noticed that.
I checked it briefly.
The cause is that the circles for the loft are not centered evenly. Also, they shouldn't be in the same sketch.

When you edit the circular pattern (double click > Edit), remove the existing axis (arc) and put the Z axis of the origin instead.
I will make a screencast later for a better solution.

Thank you for all the help.  Both of these steps helped guide me.  I also realized when I project to a surface I have to be on a different sketch plane than my original one.

Not in a different plane but in a different sketch.

Hi,

Here is a corrected version of your design.
1. I “dragged” the twisted sketch 1 onto the xy plane.
2. the upper profile is created in a separate sketch on an offset plane.
