Grid does not auto adjust

I saw a post similar to this, where the layout grid would not auto-adjust, although the issue there was due to a file type being used. I see this issue all the time. I am using the latest version of Fusion 360 on Win 10

I'm a semi-beginner to Fusion 360...but have used various CAD programs before, so I'm familiar with the work environment and 3d interface

I too see that my layout grid does not auto adjust...ever...right from the time i open the program to create a sketch...to extruding , etc. See my screen captures..

I have tried setting grid options to fixed...no change and to adaptive...no change. I scroll (zoom) in and out layout grid stay the same.

It's not a huge deal, but when I view tutorials and YouTube videos, well it's working for everyone else. I have tried setting all my parameters to default?? Is there a switch or view I've failed to turn on...or off.

Thanks,

John

There are two Adaptive Grid settings to make it work.  Take a look at the Screencast and make sure you have both of them set to Adaptive.

Hi John,

Thanks for the quik reply. I looked at your screencast...then checked my settings. I have both turned on to adaptive. But it still seems to me that the layout grid is in a fixed position...OR maybe it's me!

Meaning...I recall, with an earlier version of Fusion 360 (like last year) that the grid extended in all X/Y directions and it filled the viewport/display...rather than applying the grid and displaying it as my screen capture shows.

In other 3D programs I've used, Lightwave, 3D max, Blender, the grid fills the entire workspace/world.

Plus in UTube tuts...I see other users with the grid filling the display...

Thanks again

John

Can you File>Export and then Attach a *.f3d file here that exhibits this behavior?

What happens if you turn the mouse wheel to zoom in - then what happens?

Hi Wisperer,

I created a new example and attached the files you requested. When I zoom with wheel, the view gets larger/closer, but I don't see any  auto-adjusting...do you??

Works fine here.

Create a Screencast Recording of the behavior that you observe on your machine.
