Fusion 360 Personal stuck in trial mode

My personal license ran out so Fusion 360 started in trial mode.

I renewed the license at https://www.autodesk.com/products/fusion-360/personal and was successful in downloading the Fusion 360 Client Downloader.  When I logged out and back in Fusion 360 still shows trial mode.  I tried again a few days later with the same result.  I tried to uninstall and reinstall, same result.

Any ideas?

It seems you are all set with your renewed license. Autodesk recently changed the renewal of a Personal license to begin with a full subscription trial. When this trail ends you will be switched to your Personal license. They are hoping you will like the full subscription version enough to purchase it and not continue using a personal license.

Is this what's happening to me? Do I need to let my current subscription expire, then install the trial in order to renew my personal use license?

My personal use license expires in 6 days, but I've been unable to renew using the process I've used before: (log out of Fusion, log in to my Autodesk account on the web and renew, download the installer, wait 30 minutes, then log back into Fusion)

So far, following the process above has been unsuccessful, it continues to say "expiring in 6 days", regardless of what I do.

The process used to be:

  • Wait until the Personal License expired completely
  • Go to the Person License renew webpage, selecting the proper license to renew
  • After the renewal form is filled out, you were taken to the Download page
  • Download and install regardless if it is already installed or not.  Uninstalling existing application was not necessary
  • One year renewal Personal License started immediately

The process as I understand it to be now:

  • Wait until the Personal License expired completely
  • Go to the Person License renew webpage, selecting the proper license to renew
  • After the renewal form is filled out, you were taken to the Download page
  • Download and install regardless if it is already installed or not.  Uninstalling existing application was not necessary
  • You will not get a 30 day trial of the full Subscription License to try.  This is Autodesk method of advertising hoping you will want to sign up for the full subscription license.
  • (This is the part I cannot verify right now) After the 30 trial ends, you will be switched to your new Personal license, either automatically or using some other method.

I use a Personal license, to help me work with questions involving this type of license, which comes up for renewal in 5 days.  I will be documenting the process I use to renew and develop a process for others during my renewal process.

I can say for sure, you DO NOT go out and sign up for a 30 day trial on your own.  You also should wait until your current personal license runs out.

Thank you. Your personal expires one day before mine does. I'll check back in 5 days.

I resolved my issue.

Turns out the form at https://www.autodesk.com/products/fusion-360/personal-form was broken and not showing me all the required fields.  I would submit the form as was presented and could not continue to the download page.  Eventually the trial expired and I was stuck with no license.

I am not sure what I ended up doing but I eventually got the form with all the required fields shown.  Filling out and submitting this iteration worked.  I now have the personal license.

Does Autodesk really think that constantly making life miserable for hobby users will encourage them to pay for Fusion? Wasted another hour this morning trying to solve the Trial subscription issue because I hoped it would resolve my "Can't create new project" issue - but that appears to be a different bug.

Dear Autodesk,

Unfortunately my Fusion360 also keeps saying, that I have a Trial version. This is not the program itself, due to it online also saying that it is a trial.

If this is an error, could you advice me, or correct it?

Kind regards,

Eric W

Hi,

Keep your feet still until you get the "Expired  Subscription -Read Only" notice.
Then follow the series of images.

Thank you for the help.

Will wait my 30 days of trial, and then try your solution!

Updating this because it turns out the responses are wrong - at the end of the trial period my copy of Fusion360 just died, now I can't figure out how to reactivate it without paying for one of the exorbitantly expensive commercial plans.

Hello all,

Did someone find a solution for this Personal/Trial license thing? Today I renewed my "personal license" and downloaded installer 2 or 3 times. Uninstalled, reinstalled software. Still "Trial ends today".  Inside plans/pricing - trial has ended. And there is no possibility to select "personal license"

None of preciously mentioned solution work for me.

Newer mind. It look like somehow I started trial without noticing it. On the trial period system does not show you have a working personal license. Just trial without any other license. And this is confusing. After end of this trial there started normal personal license

BTW in autodesk account or setting there is no any information I have some personal fusion license. I can see it in the fusion software only
