Extra Layers Added When Using 3D Packages — Causes Export to Eagle 9 to Fail

Hi everyone,
I’ve noticed an issue in Fusion Electronics regarding components that include 3D packages.
When I add a component that has a 3D package linked (for example, a part downloaded from an online library), Fusion automatically creates several additional layers in my schematic — even though these layers are not actually used.
However, if I add the same component without the 3D package, no new layers are added and everything stays clean.
At first, this wasn’t a big deal, but it became a serious problem when I tried to export my Fusion design to Eagle (version 9).
Eagle 9 is limited to a maximum of 255 layers, and because of these automatically generated 3D-related layers, the exported file now exceeds that limit.
As a result, Eagle cannot open the exported design at all.
So my questions are:
Why does Fusion create these extra schematic layers when a component includes a 3D model?
Is there a way to use 3D packages without generating additional (and unused) layers?
How can I clean up or merge these layers before exporting to Eagle, so the exported file remains compatible?
I’d really appreciate any explanation or workaround for this issue. It seems to be caused by how Fusion maps 3D package mechanical layers internally, but it becomes a serious limitation when you need Eagle compatibility.
Thanks in advance for your help!
