DXF exporting problems - Pieces of Lines / Splines

I'm trying and trying to EXPORT DXF from a body

normally : right click on face - sketche - project - select face choose square or solid - you get a sketch - right click and export to DXF
The DXF I get is only pieces of splines/lines

(I tried : to restart fusion - to project solid - from body, from sketches)

Hi @Anonymous,

You probably need to DXF Spline to Poly line addin to make sure you are getting the cleanest export from Fusion. 

It could be an issue with exporting the projected geometry as well but I would try the add in first.

Sorry to know that you are facing this issue. The problem that you mentioned in the Long Video Link is actually caused due to double projection problem. It is a known issue and we have been working on it recently. Once it is fixed this problem will be automatically get solved and you will no longer see double/overlapping entities in dxf.

One workaround I can suggest is to create an Offset plane parallel to the desired surface and then try projecting the face/body onto it. This way you can avoid multiple projections.

It help for 1 thing : No more lines/splines that hide others

... but I still don't have a unique spline for my complete shape...

no difference BUT

I'm not sure that I did it well.

Some parts of your animated gif is hided...

Sorry for the trimmed gif. I was trying to show the offset plane thing. But, you are right some parts are hidden that may cause confusion. Here's the full window gif.

Just to explain what I did

I created a body

Clicked on Offset Plane

Created an offset plane with zero distance from upper face

Created a sketch on this plane

Projected face onto this sketch (plane)

I hid bodies and original sketch to avoid ambiguity while analyzing the projected sketch.

Tip:

At end of the video I am long clicking the curve i.e. keeping the curve left-clicked for a bit longer. This way I confirmed the list of items I have underneath my cursor (selected). This technique can be used anywhere in the sketch for geometries, constraints etc.

This is a workaround to avoid multiple projections.

I went through the video you have created. According to me, there is nothing wrong in the steps you took.

One thing that I think is not currently supported in Fusion is that in the exported dxf the connected curves do not get exported as a single spline. I believe our Ideastation  is the right place to put forward this request/idea.

But, just out of curiosity, how will a single spline (outline) in the exported dxf be used in your workflow?
