Blurry text on High DPI display

Hey there!

With the current version out (2.0.3133), I can not get a clear, not blurry, GUI. Btw, Fusion runs in an Windows 10 environment, Version 1703, Build 15063.332

I hope someone can help, because it degrades the usability and hurts my eyes ;)!

Thanks for posting! While this issue is not resolved, our development team is aware of the steps that need to be taken to reduce these problems. This means creating SVG icons, which is a relatively large project. They will be working on this for a future update to Fusion, but I cannot give a date at this time.

I did run some tests on my end and noticed that 2560x1440 at 150% scaling looks good (almost exactly the same as 1920x1080 at 100%. Are you using any text scaling? That could be the cause of this issue.

Hey @Anonymous,  like @paul.clauss noted, we're looking at this, and the reason why it's taking some time to get this resolved is because it's got various dependencies where we may or may not have control over. Currently, Fusion 360 is handling scaling differently than other applications, and that may be contributing to the blurriness. We're working on some UI improvements for the upcoming summer updates that may alleviate some of these issues - we'll keep you posted on when those will drop - please also let us know if you continue to see these after those updates have dropped. Hi, just installed this program and had this blurry text problem soo I went to the Compatibility settings in the 3 apps I found with the Fusion name and changed the above (Sorry it is in Portuguese but the placement should be the same) and Fusion became sharp! I am using a 4k monitor. Hope this helps!

thank you for your reply in this topic. In the beginning of this thread we already mentioned the possibility of overriding the scaling behaviour for the executables of Fusion 360 and this also solved the problem for some time. But with a recent update of Windows 10 and/or Fusion, changing DPI scaling behaviour had no effect any more.

So please post the version / build numbers you are using of Fusion and Windows.

I am sorry I forgot to write the versions, but the Fusion 360 is the version 2.0.4126 and Win 10 Pro version 1803. I believe they are the most updated versions of both and this solution worked for me in my 4k monitor.

Good news concerning this topic.

I can confirm @Anonymous experience! With version 1803 build 17134.81 of Windows 10 and the actual Fusion release 2.0.4126 the rendering in the model space and the text is not blurry anymore, when changing the DPI behaviour (as described in earlier posts).

Yesterday evening I initiated an windwos update run and today i tried Fusion with a scaling of 125% and it is all crisp! I also tried it before updating and it was blurry.

@n.ebner, @Anonymous yes I managed to get the text and viewport to be crisp, but the issue IMHO is that you can't have both crisp rendering of the text, and the UI scaled correctly. See attached screenshots (version 1803 build 17134.81 of Windows 10, Fusion 2.0.4126), when increasing scaling, the text does scale, but the icons and some parts of the UI (most notably the navigation panel on the right) don't scale.

I can reproduce the behaviour you are describing. The issue with the icons was clarified from @paul.clauss - they have to be SVG to be able to scale them without any blurriness.

The main problem in my opinion was that the 3D-viewport was not rendered crisp and with a resolution below 4k. This made working a bit uncomfortable. A lot of zooming was required to see the details, were no zooming would have been required with a 4k resolution.

As this works now fine, it is ok for me.

Nevertheless, I would not call it a solution, because a further Windows 10 update could easily change everything.

This really does need to be fixed. Windows 10's scaling is frustrating for several applications, but Fusion 360 is the only application that I've encountered that doesn't have some kind of workaround to make it function properly with a high dpi display.

Same issue here - blurry text etc. Running a HP Zbook G5 with 4K screen. Very much looking forward to a fix soon.

I found a solution that worked for me here:

In short, find the .EXE files for Fusion in Explorer, right click and edit their properties, look in the Compatibility tab, and override high DPI scaling.

In windows 10 Put in your own scaling setting (mine was set at at 125% ?!?) - right click on main windows screen then display settings/advanced scaling settings. Then change to for example to 125% and when prompted sign out and then sign back in again for some reason it has to be setup in custom scaling! I tried everything to get rid of blurry icons and text, this worked for me I hope it works for others.

I just bought new monitors 2 x 32" with resolution 2560 x 1440. Everything was great except Revit display - very blurry.

There is a windows setting to "Fix apps that are blurry".  I just typed that into the search and turned that setting on.  log off and back on and it is now very good.  Hope that helps someone.

Yes I tried it but the picture is not as sharp as it should be. Fusion starts at a lower resolution. If I run fusion on FHD display everything is perfectly sharp. I also tried Mac OS on the app and there is everything OK at 4K resolution.

What I did to make the fuzziness disappear:

Find "Autodesk Fusion 360" entry in the start menu, and right click on it, More.../Open file location.
You should get Explorer window with the shortcut in it.

Right click on the "Autodesk Fusion 360"and select Properties.

In the Compatibility tab Settings - Change high DPI settings.
In High DPI scaling override tick the box and select Application.
