after fusion updates how do i close open files ?? drawing points ??

after recent upgrades and new UI turned off, i have a very narrow tabs at the top of my screen. these tabs are linked to open files and clicking them will open different files.

1) how do you know which tab goes with which  file ??

2) how do you close an open file ??

3) if i use the new ui in preferences how do you draw a point as there are no longer any pull down menus below the basic operation icons ??  i dont see the draw point function etc

thanks

The tabs should be named the same as each file open. The active file will be illuminated white and inactive will be a darker grey. Hovering over each tab will give its full name and project as well.

There is an 'X' to the right of each tab allowing you to close it.

Point is a sketch tool and you'll need to enter a sketch for it. In the normal non preview UI this is under sketch, in the preview UI, sketch is contextual so its menus and tools are hidden until you are in one.

As you can see there is not an X to close a tab. Also I get the hover…slow but at least its there 😊

I will try the ui again but I think its missing will let you know asap

Thanks

i think you are falling into a different set of problems. @keqingsong can you confirm if this is the same graphics issue?

What resolution are you running your monitors?

Replyi normally run   3840x2160 and 2560x1440

i set one as low as 1600x900  with no change as far as the missing X.

my office mate runs 1920x1200   and he gets the X in UI  not checked mode.

neither he nor i can see how to draw a point while in a sketch when the ui option is checked ( AND FUSION RESTARTED)

I noted also that my office mate gets a + sign at the rhs of the thin tab bars to start a new design  and the file names are displayed in his tabs where mine only show by rollover 😞

From what i can tell you are falling into this scaling issue here:https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/fusion-360-support/march-update-toolbar-scaling-issues-and-what-do-ab...

Point should still be under create with either the UI preview on or not:

UI preview on:

 OFF:

My first picture is of the UI preview checked so there IS an option but as i mentioned to check that thread - your toolbars are tweaked so its obscured.

tried the tweaks in the article and also tried low res on main monitor.........NO HELP 😞

so i have a similar or related problem

my office mates fusion 360 shows the X.  but in ui checked mode he has no create option while sketching same as mine.  I will reset his scaling just to check if that helps him.

cheers

applied work around to office mates computer.

in ui checked mode there is a two pixel wide bar which appears if you hold the mouse where the create pull down should be and it works to pull the menu down with the point and other options.

tried the same on mine but it does not appear even at very low resolution ( near vga)

thanks

This could be because you are on Windows 7.

Can you list all the things you've tried so far? This is a finicky issue resolution/dpi is tricky.

On my win 7 pro Dell workstation I tried the fix in the article you sent me.  I tried several different lower resolutions on both monitors.  I also tried this in the ui checked and unchecked modes.

So was disable dpi checked or unchecked for the Fusion.exe?

What is the scaling set to in Windows?
