If the actual time differs from the expected time, allow workers to share more information about why this happened.

We currently review production times with our workers every two weeks, manually in Google sheets with an export from Fusion Operations. The sheet will flag when a worker was too slow or too fast, compared to an estimated time. We want to know "why" they were slow or fast but often, they cannot remember something that happened two weeks ago. Often they were slow because there was a problem that needs to be fixed by management but this information never gets communicated or recorded.

We set expected times for each operation in Fusion Operations. I would like to propose a new workflow that when a worker completes an operation / production record, I wish it would show a summary screen:

Expected time: 1h 20m

Actual time: 2h 5m

Difference: +45m

If the actual time differs from the expected time by a threshold (X%, set by user either globally or per operation), then it would say, "Why did this take longer than expected?" The worker could choose from pre-defined options such as tool missing, quality issue, took a break, etc. They could also write their own reason. It is important to capture this information immediately when the situation is fresh in their minds. Alternatively, if the task was completed much faster, ask them, "how did you do this so quickly"? This may lead to a discovery that gets everybody on staff to do this operation more quickly with a new time-saving technique.

Overall, this would capture information from the workers as they finish production records and then management could review the comments periodically to find out what is working and what needs to be fixed or addressed.

Hello @adamL79LL

Thank you for this idea! This would also imply Fusion Operations to indicate on the mobile app the productivity (or estimated vs actual production time) for each record, which is a KPI that the system only shows as a quick flash message when workers check out production. Workers can use today the checklist record tablet button to indicate this information - though I absolutely understand that having it prompting during the checkout process according to a certain threshold would be a much more solid process.
