I am proposing that the new Constraint command should have a new mode called something like 'position components'. The Position mode will position components just like the Move and Align command so that after positioning them the command will have no other influence on the positioned components. This way just like the new constraint has superseded the Joint commands in Rigid body positioning the Position variant will likewise replace 'Move' and 'Align' as an 'easier' way of positioning components relative to one another.
To this end, for components that were positioned with the 'Constraining' mode variant one should also be able to right-click a Relation in the Relationship folder and choose 'Release' whereby the constraint will no longer exist but leaving the previously constrained component where it currently is, not where it was before the constraint was added. It should also be possible to 'Release' the entire relationship folder in case releasing one or more components upsets some constraint dependences elsewhere in the graph.
This last request would also address a position that I currently find myself in, where I want to add a constraint but cannot because of some previously created constraint which conflicts with the one I am trying to create. In this case I have sometimes been tempted to remove some constraints which I think is/are responsible (if I can remember), or the entire Relationship directory so that I can start constraining a-new from that point, but whenever I have tried this I have often had some really weired results including several components thrown somewhere into outer space or worse still changing the geometry of some components...yes that's happened!
In short it will be great to add the power of the constraining command to component moving while still being able to freely move the components again afterwards without falling into side effects issues.
